profile trials of former senior French officials have
re-focused attention on human rights issues arising from
the Nazi
occupation of France during the Second World War. Henry
Rousso, one of
France's foremost contemporary historians and Director
of the Institut
d'Histoire du Temps Présent in Paris, is a leading
authority on the
Vichy régime and its aftermath.
