Florida State University is located close to the downtown area of the state capital, Tallahassee.

Situated in north-west Florida, Tallahassee is about an hour's drive from a stretch of the Gulf of Mexico known as the 'forgotten coast' because of its nature reserves and unspoiled beaches. The Wakulla Springs state park, a 30-minute drive from Tallahassee, offers boat-rides through the wildlife-rich waters where Tarzan and other movies were filmed.

Tallahassee Regional Airport, which is served by Delta and a range of other airlines, is located 6 miles from the Radisson Hotel in downtown Tallahassee. The Radisson operates a complimentary shuttle service to the airport. Taxi fare from airport to hotel is around $15.
