Congratulations to Michael Widener for having his abstract entitled 'A Geospatial Framework for Incorporating Behavioral Response and Infrastructure Uncertainty into the Analysis of Extreme Events' accepted for poster presentation at GIScience 2008. The international conference will be held September of this year in Park City, Utah. (August, 2008)

Congratulations to Barbie Bischof and Phil Steinberg for having been awarded a National Science Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Research Grant for Barbie's study of "Knowledge, Networks, and the Spaces of Coral Reef Conservation." (June, 2008)
