Graduation Checks and Clearance

Graduation Checks - Students should initiate a graduation check in the offices of the College of Arts and Sciences at least one (1) semester prior to the term in which they plan to graduate and no later than the semester in which the student will have completed 110 or more semester credit hours. At the same time, students must also initiate a graduation check from the Registrar's office, Graduation Section, A3900 University Center. The results of the "college check" will indicate to the student whether college and university requirements are completed (and, if not, what courses must yet be taken). In addition, the respective academic department will indicate what (if any) courses must be taken to complete requirements for the major or minor.

Application for Graduation - Application for a degree must be made to the Registrar's Office by the date stated on the Academic Calendar in the Directory of Classes during the term in which the student expects to graduate. If the student is unable to graduate at the end of the term for which application was made and the diploma was ordered, the student must again make application for degree no later than the deadline for the next term in which the student expects to graduate. The student also bears the expense of the second diploma request.
