150 Trees
for Florida State University
As
part of the Sesquicentennial Celebration this year at Florida State University,
the FSU Alumni Association
and the Division of Finance and Administration,
along with Sesquicentennial Student Committee and the Division
of Student Affairs are coordinating a campaign to secure funding to
plant 150 trees.
Two
very important and visible areas are being targeted. Landis Green, bordered
by Dogwood Way and Magnolia Way, will receive
50 dogwoods and 50 magnolias. We plan to purchase 75-gallon specimens,
trees that will last several generations and mature into majestic grandeur.
We also plan to plant 50 crepe myrtles along Palmetto Drive, which parallels
Tennessee Street. These new plants will complement the crepe myrtles that
are planted in the median areas of Tennessee Street.
Each
tree will be professionally installed and will be maintained by the FSU
Grounds Department to ensure each plant will have a long life. The location
of each tree donated will be listed as part of the Sesquicentennial Celebration
and documented for the future. We welcome you to come back and watch your
tree mature.
The
main campus of Florida State University is a place of dreams and our "150
Trees for Florida State University" will enable us to continue to
make this the most beautiful campus anywhere. We hope you will contribute
the $150.00 needed for each tree.
Checks should be made out to the FSU Foundation and restricted to "150
Trees."
