1948

Dr. Mabel Jean Morrison (B.A., M.A. 51, E.d.D. '80) was inducted into the Okaloosa County Women's Hall of Fame for a lifetime of achievements for helping to improve life for women in Okaloosa County.

1953

H. Morgan Smith (B.S.) is professor of environmental sciences at the Zungero Cocha Research and Education Center, Iquitos, Peru.

1955

Thomas C. Cundy (B.S.) was given the 2000 Horatio Alger Award by the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans.

1956

William J. P. Smith Jr. (B.S.) has added a mentoring boot camp program for graduating college students entering the entertainment and mass media industry through his company, Huckleberry Finn Tomorrow in Los Angeles. He is also teaching in the journalism department at Citrus College.

1962

Dr. Thomas "Tommy" J. Mew III (B.S., M.A. '64) is a professor of art at Berry College and director of the college's Moon Gallery.
Dr. Richard J. Erickson (B.A., M.A. '65) is the deputy chief, International and Operations Law Division, Headquarters, U.S. Air Force.

1964

H. Allen Williams (B.S.) was inducted into the FSU Hall of Fame. Williams earned a reputation as one of the finest shot put and discus throwers for FSU between 1960 - '64.

1966

Judge John C. Lenderman (B.A.) of the Circuit Court in St. Petersburg, Fla., has completed the advanced evidence course at The National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada.

1968

Cathy Knutson Brown (B.S.) has been appointed executive director of the St. Johns County Council on Aging in St. Augustine.

1969

W. Wayne Godwin (B.A.) president and CEO of WCET48, is co-chair of the search committee to find a replacement for Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) president and CEO.
Lynda Keever (B.A.) has received the LeRoy Collins Distinguished Community College Honorary Alumni Award from the Florida Association of Community Colleges.

1971

Joy S. Jinks (B.A., M.S.W. '75) wrote "Swamp Gravy," a Georgia folk life play that has national attention.
Douglas T. MacDonald (B.S.), a retired naval aviator, was promoted to sales manager at B.C. Harris Publishing Co.

1972

E. Sherwood Bishop III (Ph.D.) is chair of the sociology department at University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Bishop won an Excellence in Teaching Award.

1973

David B. Clark (B.S.) is a public and media relations specialist for the Florida Teaching Profession-National Education Association.

1974

David K. Robertson III (B.S.) is the chief operating officer at Reynolds, Smith and Hills Inc. Fla. Gov. Jeb Bush has appointed Robertson to the Clay County Development Authority.

1975

Ralph C. Cottrell III (M.S.), a forensic chemist with the Drug Enforcement Administration for 25 years, is laboratory director of DEA's North Central Laboratory in Chicago, Ill.
Richard W. Walton (B.S.) owns HAWK Associates, in Tucson, a marketing, advertising and P.R. company specializing in shooting and archery sports.

1976

Constance Mason Neeley (B.S.) is the deputy commissioner of tourism for the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade & Tourism.

1977

Eric B. Faulkner (B.S.) was promoted to region sales information specialist with Kraft Foods Inc. and has relocated to Seattle, Wash.

1978

Brent A. Barker (B.S.) is a special agent with the Diplomatic Security Service, U.S. Department of State. Barker is the regional security officer for the American Embassy in Suva, Fiji.
Barry C. Taff (B.M.E.) is director of support services in the Phenix City (Ala.) School System.

1979

Steven P. Hourigan (B.S.), broker and owner of Changing Times Realty Co, is president of the Tallahassee Board of Realtors.
Dr. Janie Canty-Mitchell (B.S.) was commissioned to the Office of Deaconess in the United Methodist Church.
Thomas N. Ray (B.S.) is area president (Sarasota-Bradenton) for First Union National Bank and the commercial sales manager for the Gulf Coast Region of Florida.

1981

Howard J. Diamond (B.S.) has worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Silver Spring, Md., since 1981 and is program manager of the U.S. Global Climate Observing System at NOAA's National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service.
Lt. Col. Karen Irwin Nigara (B.S.) has returned from duty in support of Operation Joint Guard, Kosovo Peacekeeping Force.

1983

Everett M. Harner II (B.S.) has been hired as district sales manager, energy finance, for the CIT Group in Houston, Texas.
Lunelle Mizell Siegel (B.S.) is an assistant vice president of GE Capital Commercial Funding.

1984

Howard A. Kusnick (B.S.) is chairman of The Florida Bar Consumer Protection Committee.
Donald N. Williams (J.D.), a personal injury/commercial litigation trial attorney in Orlando, has been awarded the highest possible rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the preeminent legal directory in the United States.

1985

Janet L. Findling (J.D.) was appointed to the Florida Bar Public Interest Law Section Executive Council. She is the legal advocate for the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program.
Maj. Michael K. Howell (B.S.) returned from being stationed overseas for seven years as a C-130 instructor navigator in Japan and Germany. He is now currently stationed at Shaw AFB, in Sumter, S.C., where he is an overseas exercise planner for the Southwest and Central Asia regions.

1986

Michael S. Indgin (B.S.) is an associate creative director at Suissa Miller Advertising in Los Angeles.

1987

Philip V. Lester (B.S.) had a role in "Where the Truth Lies," on the Lifetime Channel.
Leanne Myers Voiland (B.S.) is director of finance for Tropicana Products Inc. out of Bradenton. Voiland joined Tropicana in 1991.

1988

Thomas A. Pear (B.S.) received a master's degree in journalism from Regent University and handles public relations for Faith Farm in Boynton Beach, Fla.

1989

Jennifer O'Flannery (B.S.) is a full-time Ph.D. candidate in the public administration program of Florida Atlantic University.

1990

Kelly A. O'Keefe (B.S., J.D. '94) an associate with the law firm of Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan in Tallahassee, is the president of Tallahassee Women Lawyers.
Jarrod S. Miller (B.S.) is an Emmy award-winning news photographer for WXIN-TV in Indianapolis, Ind.

1991

Jeff F. Cockrell (B.S.) earned an M.P.A. in public administration from the University of West Florida.
Herman B. White Jr. (Ph.D.) has been a staff physicist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory for 25 years and has been elected to the North Central College Board of Trustees. White is a Corridor Fellow in physics.
Jose M. Lezcano (Ph.D.), an associate professor of music at Keene (N,H) State College, completed a summer residency in Ecuador.
W. Casey Weldon(B.S.) was inducted into the FSU Hall of Fame. Weldon's 4,643 career yards of total offense ranked as the second highest total in school history when he graduated. He threw 41 career touchdown passes. He went on to be a quarterback in the NFL.
