"We forget that each of us is an aspect,
a fragment, of creator force.
The Angels are here to remind us".

Touched By An Angel

By Kimberly Wheatley
Assistant Editor, Florida State Times

A divine inspiration led an FSU grad to create the nation's only magazine devoted exclusively to angels.

The Angel Times , which has been featured in USA Today , includes articles by some of the nation's most popular angel authors, reports of angel encounters, celebrity interviews, angel art, children's stories, poetry, humor, and a resource guide for finding all kinds of angel products.

Publisher Linda Whitmon Vephula, a 1966 Florida State Business School graduate and 20-year veteran of corporate and office management, said a divine inspiration in June 1994 led her to publish the magazine.

"I believe that angels could be considered a common denominator among the religions of the world, because they all refer to angels or messengers from God," said Vephula, who now lives in Atlanta.

She said she relied on angels, asking for their help to grasp what she calls her "miracle."

"With no magazine ex-perience and little financial backing to accomplish this mission, it should have taken at least a year's lead time and $1 million to launch this new national magazine," she said.

Instead Vephula had the first copy of the Angel Times in her hands 4 1/2 months later. Since then, four issues have been printed.

Vephula sees the Angel Times as a vehicle for sharing her personal goal of promoting love in the world. Her future goal for the magazine is to distribute it worldwide.

The quarterly magazine is printed on high grade, glossy recyclable paper and uses soy ink, making it environmentally friendly. The subscription rate is $26 per year in the United States, $35 for Canada and $39 inter-nationally.
