2009-10 Assessment Instruments and Instructions

Every applicable 2009-2010 Florida Learn & Serve project agreed by the submission of its proposal and acceptance of its award to participate in assessment for this program. The assessment consists of conducting a pre- and post-survey of at least one class of participating students and also reporting on school-collected data on participating students’ academic performance, attendance, and conduct. The data elements are compared to other, non-participating students in the same grade(s).

All Pilot, Renewal, and Leader School projects must participate. District projects are invited to participate, but are not required to do so. Teachers of students in grades K-3 do not administer surveys, but do report on the data.

LASSIE - Learn & Serve Online Reporting

All recipients of Learn & Serve's grant funds for the 2009-2010 program year are required to report on service-learning activities that were funded through this federal grant program. This survey, required by and submitted to the Corporation for National and Community Service, asks for data and descriptions of your project activities and participants.

In March 2010, you will be sent an e-mail with a username and password to access the web site for LASSIE and enter information. The deadline for completion of LASSIE reports is JUNE 30, 2010. This reporting requirement will be discussed in detail at the November 20, 2009 grantee meeting in Orlando.

The following documents will aid in the compilation of data for entry into the LASSIE system.
