Florida Learn & Serve is a federally funded grant program that awards grants to schools and school districts to engage youth in service-learning. Awards are issued by the Florida Department of Education.

The nationally adopted Standards for Service-Learning are derived from research on effective practice, and Florida examples illustrate each standard. Additional information is included regarding K-20 service-learning resources and support in Florida.
As you may know, the Corporation for National and Community Service has been preparing for the launch of an exciting new summer service initiative in partnership with the White House. President Obama has officially announced the initiative, United We Serve, encouraging Americans to create meaningful change in their communities by engaging in service.
United We Serve will kick off on June 22 at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service and will run through the new National Day of Service and Remembrance on September 11. All the tools for participating in this initiative can be found on the Corporation’s website, Serve.gov. Please go there today, if you haven’t already, to post your own volunteer projects.
