Curriculum Vita
Lynn A. Wicker is an Associate Professor in the College of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. In addition to her responsibilities as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, she serves as an instructor and Program Coordinator in the Educational Leadership Program and has been influential in the distance learning development for this program.
Dr. Wicker’s research interest is in Leadership Preparation Programs.She has authored a paper titled Principal Preparation Program Reforms and Their Impact on Essential Competencies and Behaviors for Effective Principals. Her other research interest includes Urban Education issues.
Prior to coming to Florida State University, Dr. Wicker served in the K-12 sector with nine years of experience as an elementary education teacher and eleven years as a school administrator. She served students and families primarily in urban, high poverty environments.
She has been awarded the School Advisory Council Leadership Award, Herman Frick Award for Outstanding Graduate students in Educational Leadership, and Outstanding Graduate Student, University of West Florida. She is currently a member and affiliated with the University Council for Educational Administration, Florida Association for Colleges of Teacher Education, American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education, International Reading Association and Association for Curriculum and Development.
