The Peace Corps Master's International

The Peace Corps Master's International in Education is a thirty-three (33) credit hour program that combines Peace Corps service with graduate coursework in international development and the techniques and content of math, science or English education.
In today's rapidly globalizing world, educators are increasingly called upon to bring an understanding of cultural differences and foreign languages as well as subject matter expertise to the practice of their profession. At the same time, efforts to improve the lives of people in the developing world offer meaningful new opportunities for educators. The Peace Corps Master's International offers a unique and exciting opportunity to prepare for careers in culturally diverse school systems in the United States and in international education development by combining high-quality graduate education in math, science, English and international education with service as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in one of more than 70 countries around the globe.
Master's International students complete one year of coursework in international development and either math, science, or English education before entering Peace Corps service as an education volunteer where they will develop the experience, language skills, and cross-cultural understanding that will enable them to succeed in both U.S. and international educational careers.
Upon completing Peace Corps service, Master's International students choose to complete a degree in Sociocultural and International Development Education if they are interested in going on to a career in international development, or complete a degree in English, mathematics, or science education if they prefer a career as a teacher in a school in the United States. Either way, participants leave the Master's International program with an unparalleled combination of education and experience that will open up a world of opportunities.
