Ms. Asher previously worked at Florida A&M University (FAMU) where she was Associate Director of the International Translation Center, where she was instrumental in the design and establishment of the Center's academic program as well as its service area. In addition, Ms. Asher has taught several seminars in translation and interpretation as well as computer-assisted language instruction and other language technology. She also organized several study abroad programs while at FAMU, including the Mexico City Translation and Interpretation Summer Program in 1991 and the Puerto Rico Exchange Program with the Universidad Interamericana in 1992. At Florida State University (FSU), Ms. Asher heads the Beyond Borders cultural and community service exchange between FSU and the University of Costa Rica. She is a member of several professional associations among them the National Association of Female Executive, the Joint National Committee for Languages, the National Council of La Raza and the American Association of University Women.
