Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners
PROFESSOR BRUCE STIFTEL AND MSP GRADUATES WAYNE DALTRY AND WES HANKINS AS FELLOWS OF THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PLANNERS Bruce Stiftel , current and long-time member of the Urban and Regional Planning faculty, Wayne Daltry (MSP 1973), Executive Director of the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council, and Wes Hankins (MSP 1968), retired faculty member at East Carolina University . Election to Fellow in AICP is one of the highest honors that the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) bestows upon a member. This honor is a recognition of the achievements of the planner as an individual, elevating the Fellow before the public and the profession as a model planner who has made significant contributions to planning and society. Fellowship is granted to planners who have been members of AICP and have achieved excellence in professional practice, teaching and mentoring, research, public/community service, and leadership. Those chosen become members of the College of Fellows . Four other individuals affiliated with FSU's urban planning program were previously honored as fellows. These were: Sam Casella , who was the department's Planner-In-Residence from 1995-2000, inducted 1999, David Godschalk , who was a faculty member in the department from 1965-1969, inducted 1999, Earl Starnes (PhD 1977), inducted in 2002, and Ben Withers (MSP 1972), inducted in 2002.
