Degree in Three: Intended Students Once again, welcome to FSU. Our records indicate that you submitted a form indicating an interest in the Degree in Three Program. Because there are so many factors that go into determining whether a three-year degree program is possible and appropriate for any student, there are four things you will need to do: 1. Attend one of the Degree in Three meetings scheduled early in the term. At this time we will discuss the program in detail and explain exactly how it will work. (See Meetings). 2. Meet with the Degree in Three advisor in your major. At this time you will address both whether the program is possible, given the major you have selected and the credits you have completed, and whether it is appropriate for you. (Sometimes an accelerated program may be possible but not really in an individual student's best interest.) 3. Complete the Student Information and Program of Study forms. If a degree in three years seems both possible and appropriate, you will need to complete these two forms and have them approved by your advisor. Both you and your advisor need to sign the bottom of the Program of Study Form, which will serve as your "roadmap" to a degree in three years. Make sure you find out if the major you are interested in is a "limited access" major and, if so, what are the requirements for you to be admitted as a junior into that major. (Note: Degree in Three students are not guaranteed admission into "limited access" majors. They must meet all of the requirements, just like other students.) 4. Submit your forms to a Degree in Three office (A3500 University Center or A3200 University Center) at least three working days before you wish to begin registering. Most students like to register at the earliest possible time, so get these in ASAP. Students who submit the required forms will be coded as program participants and will have priority registration as long as they are making progress toward their degrees. This means that at the end of each term, we will verify that each student has completed the planned courses with grades appropriate for the major. Links of common interest:
