POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT

vspacer.gif (56 bytes) The Policy Development and Technical Support project provides a variety of services to the Department of Education (DOE), local school districts, other state agencies and educational organizations. These projects and services include:

  • Assist school districts in maximizing Medicaid services and earnings through, understanding the Florida Medicaid program,
  • Helping districts determine the feasibility of enrolling as Medicaid provider,
  • Facilitation of joint training with the Agency for Health Care Administration and Department of Education,
  • Provide Medicaid Services relating to policy interpretation and proposed actions.

 

vspacer.gif (56 bytes) Florida Inclusion Network
  • Assist in the statewide coordination of the Florida Inclusion Network
  • Work with the Department of Education and Florida Inclusion Network to develop mechanisms to track/coordinate statewide activities
  • Provide facilitators grant administration, on-site assistance and technical assistance.

  • Attend Board meetings of the On-Line High School Project,
  • Provide input to the project co-chairs and help facilitate activities between the Department of Education, Alachua and Orange County School Boards,
  • Keep the Department of Education updated on project activities and reporting,
  • Recommend policy changes to help implement the project. Research and report on, on-line high school programs in other states.

  • Provide technical assistance to Division of Public Schools, DOE on setting up the parameters for Performance-Based Budgeting initiatives,
  • Attend advisory committee meetings with local districts,
  • Help in the identification of inputs, processes, outputs and outcomes standards for the PB2 model,
  • Assist in the planning for the development training models for local school districts.
