Mary Jane Tappen, serving as the School Improvement Policy Center Project Leader, has worked in the field of education as an instructional assistant, middle school mathematics teacher, a district level teacher trainer, the Mathematics Coordinator of a Statewide Project, and the communications and technology facilitator for the School Improvement Policy Center. These positions have included extensive participation involving: local and statewide professional organizations, serving on both the Florida Year-round Schools and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Boards; organizing, managing and facilitating K-12 teacher professional development programs; researching, organizing, publishing and disseminating information to Florida schools; school, district, regional, and state level committee work; the Duval Public School Urban Systemic Initiative; the Florida Statewide Systemic Initiative and the Florida State University School Improvement Policy Center.

Judith Harriss is Assistant in Research responsible for coordinating the Florida League of Teachers and Florida Academies of Excellence. Previous experience includes serving as a Dropout Prevention Teacher in Leon County, Speech/Language Pathologist in Wakulla County, and Clinical Supervisor/Instructor with Florida State University's Speech and Hearing Clinic.
