The P.E.E.R. Project

Partnership for Enhancing Educational Resources

The PEER Project will incorporate a unique partnership between the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), Florida State University (FSU) and Florida A & M University (FAMU).  Work will include collaboration to design, implement, and demonstrate a model to assist Florida's Critically Low Performing Schools (CLPS) in enhancing educational resources for the purpose of increasing student achievement and improving overall student learning outcomes.  The PEER Project will pilot the Peer Intervention Model initially at Havana Northside High School, in Havana, Florida.  Havana Northside has been designated a critically low performing school for the past three years and is currently the only high school on the CLPS list.  Project staff from FSU and FAMU will first solicit approval and cooperation from Gadsden County School Administrators and the school Principal to begin the project.  The PEER Project will focus the efforts of a diverse group of university educators, school personnel, community stakeholders, students and other partners to achieve the following goals:
