| The Florida Academies for Excellence in Teaching is a collaborative partnership model for professional development to support school reform in Florida. The current Florida Academies for Excellence in Teaching are supported through a $1.5 million dollar allocation to the Florida Department of Education from Goals 2000 federal funding. |
| The Florida Academies for Excellence in Teaching model was originally established in 1993 and currently there are five Academy sites. These sites were selected through a competitive bid process that included review by a team of outside reviewers representative of stakeholders from the school community. |
