For M.A. Degree:

a BA or Baccalaureate from an accredited university

3.0 GPA in all upper-division work and a minimum of 1100 on the GRE (combined
verbal and quantitative)

sufficient undergraduate work to warrant study
at the graduate level

three letters of recommendation

a statement of purpose
- a writing sample not to exceed 20 pages

For Ph.D. Degree:

an MA from an accredited university

Students without MA, generally admitted to
the MA program, may apply to the PhD program (see Graduate Bulletin for details)

a 3.5 GPA in previous graduate level course work

GRE scores of at least 1200 combined (with not less than 600 on the verbal section)
