Svetla Slaveva-Griffin (Ph.D., Iowa)
specializes in Late Greek Philosophy, ancient science and medicine. Her broader research interests lie in the dialogue between ancient philosophy and the areas that are outside of its "box:" literary genre, poetry, myth, religion, and medicine. She is the author of articles on Parmenides, Plato, Plotinus, Porphyry, myth and philosophy. She is currently completing a monograph on the concept of number in Plotinus' philosophy. Her next research project, entitled "Plato's Hippocrates: The Healing Arts of Medicine and Philosophy," examines Plato's programatic use of medicine in the Republic.
