Laurel Fulkerson (Ph.D., Columbia) specializes in Latin and Greek
poetry and gender in antiquity. Recent works include a monograph on
intratextuality in Ovid's Heroides (Cambridge University Press 2005),
and several articles on Latin and Greek poetry. Current research
interests include the representation of emotions in the ancient world
and the relationship of epic and history. Grants and awards include
an NEH summer stipend, a Margo Tytus Fellowship from the University
of Cincinnati, a University Teaching Award and a teaching certificate
in Women's Studies with a focus on feminist theory.
Recent graduate courses taught include Cicero/Seneca, Elegy, History
and Epic (Latin), Vergil and Ovid, Latin Poetry Survey and Greek
Tragedy in translation. |
