Allen J. Romano (Ph.D. Stanford) specializes in Greek literature with particular interests in tragedy, Hellenistic poetry, and mythography. He is currently preparing a book on Greek explanatory myths (The Craft of Origins: Explanatory Myths and Greek Poetics) and developing a project on the display of performative skill (techne) and the importance of training in late Classical and Hellenistic drama. He has published on Hellenistic epigram and forthcoming pieces include work on Homer, Euripides, and Callimachus. Allen joined the department in 2007. |
