Hillary Conley (B.A. in Archaeology and Classical Studies, University of Evansville) entered the PhD program in the fall of 2007. Her research interests include Greek and Roman mythology and its impact on ancient and modern cultures. While she has not yet participated in an excavation exploring the Classical world, she does have field experience in North American Archaeology. In 2006 she excavated with Dr. Paul Pacheco (SUNY-Geneso) at Brown's Bottom, a Hopewell settlement site, and presented her research at the Butler Undergraduate Research Conference. This past summer (2007) she excavated with Dr. Robert McCullough (IPFW-AS) and Dr. Michael Strezewski (USI) at a Late Prehistoric site in Strawtown, Indiana. She also conducted a geophysical research project at a 19th century pioneer cemetery, and the conclusions are on display at Strawtown Koteewi Park and will later be on display at the 2007 Midwestern Archaeological Conference.
