Stephen Harrison earned his BA (1982) and MA (1985) in Classics at Balliol College, Oxford and his DPhil at Oxford University (1987). He taught and researched at Magdalen College and St. John's College, Oxford, before moving to Corpus Christi College, Oxford where he is now Professor of Classical Languages and Literature, and Fellow and Tutor in Classics.
Prof. Harrison has written widely on Augustan poetry and other areas; his earlier works include A Commentary on Vergil, Aeneid 10 (OUP 1991), Apuleius: A Latin Sophist (OUP 2000) and a number of co-edited volumes. His most recent books are (as editor) The Cambridge Companion to Horace (CUP, 2007) and (as sole author) Generic Enrichment in Vergil and Horace (OUC, 2007). He is a member of the editorial boards of Ancient Narrative, Acta Classics and Trends in Classics, and an associate editor of Bryn Mawr Classical Review. |
