Meeting #1: September 7, 2007

1. Elections

President
The office of President is open to graduate students in their second year or later.
            Responsibilities:

      • Act as primary representative
      • Preside over all meetings and call all meetings to order
      • Be one of two signers on financial documents
      • Ensure all officers are performing their duties as defined in the Constitution.
      • Assign special projects to officers
      • Notify members of meetings via e-mail at least 48 hours in advance.

Secretary
The office of Secretary is traditionally filled by a first-year graduate student.
            Responsibilities:

      • Keep accurate records of all meetings
      • Maintain an accurate list of members and their contact information
      • Record attendance of members at meetings
      • Keep a copy of the constitution and have available for members
      • Assist in special projects as assigned by the President

Candidates will be given the opportunity, if they wish, to address the SAC and say a few words about their qualifications and reasons why he/she should be elected.
