Keb’ Mo’

Winner of three Grammys for Best Contemporary Blues Album, Keb’ Mo’ uses a slide guitar, a husky voice and a batch of strong songs to create a powerful solo performance.

Rolling Stone describes his music as residing “somewhere between the soul of Delta Blues and the melodic feel of contemporary folk.”

Born Kevin Moore in Compton, CA, Keb’ Mo’ began his musical career playing R&B with violinist Papa John Creach. Inspired by the blues, he released his first record in 1994. Since then, he’s been America’s most high-profile bluesman, releasing eight CDs, appearing in films and hosting Martin Scorsese’s award-winning 13-part series The Blues.

The Houston Chronicle put it simply: “He has the ability to make traditional blues come alive.”
