Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet
This exciting troupe is among the hottest names in dance today, one whose “immediate visceral and kinetic impact mostly makes you want to jump onstage and dance, not analyze” (New York Times). Underwritten by Wal-Mart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie, the company is committed to highlighting the works of emerging and international choreographers. At Seven Days, Cedar Lake will perform new works by Belgian choreographer Stijn Celis and Canadian performer/choreographer Crystal Pite, as well as Jacob Godani’s acclaimed “Symptoms of Development.” The Philadelphia Inquirer praised Cedar Lake’s “strong lines and impressive pointe work,” while The Village Voice noted its “high-powered, eclectic mix of modern dance, ballet and jazz.” Presented in conjunction with the FSU Department of Dance.
