Statement

“Art is a language that has as many interpretations as it has viewers. My goal is to convey the information in my work as clearly as possible without dictating the viewer’s unique experience. The use of metaphor in my work allows me to focus on conceptual issues without losing sight of the formal aspects of the object.

As an artist, I am compelled to create. I have always enjoyed the process of art-making whether experimenting with materials in the studio, or attempting to communicate an idea, an emotion, or both.

As a person coping in our shrinking global community, I find solace in the hope that art brings. Even the smallest possibility of change is reason to believe in the power of change. If art can move an individual then perhaps it can move a society.”
