The Department of Art is one of the largest and most comprehensive departments in the College of Visual Arts, Theatre & Dance. We offer diverse opportunities for creative development and expression on both the graduate and undergraduate levels in a wide variety of discipline areas. Our distinguished faculty provides instruction in the skills necessary for artistic creation, and guides students to an understanding of contemporary issues in the visual arts in an academically challenging environment. The department is committed to excellence in all programs and strives to combine curricular flexibility with a rigorous mix of experiences and opportunities for serious, focused study in art and design.
