Thank you for your interest in applying to the program in American &
Florida Studies. You will find below a listing of our general admission
requirements. If you meet or exceed these requirements, we encourage
you to continue with the application process. Please keep in mind, however,
that meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission, only admission
consideration. The graduate admissions process is limited and competitive.
General Admission Requirements
* Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university
* Upper division cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (on
a 4.0 scale)
* Minimum score of 1000 on the combined Verbal and Quantitative portions
of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
Application Process: University and the Program in American &
Florida Studies
Part 1 of the online application includes the general
application for admission to graduate study at Florida State University.
You will be asked to submit to the Office of Admissions the required
information listed below:
* Two (2) Official Transcripts from each institution attending (attended),
and
* Official GRE (#5219) test scores.
Part 2 of the online application includes requests
for information required by the program in which you wish to apply.
This information should be uploaded in the Supporting Documents section
of the application.
Prospective students can Apply
Now to the University. When applying for admission to our program,
YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION must include the following Supporting Documents
UPLOADED:
* Document One: Statement of Purpose
Include a statement of purpose outlining your interest in the American
and Florida Studies program as well as your goals.
* Document Two: Writing Sample
Submit a sample of academic or professional writing.
Recommendation Letters
Prospective students are required to solicit three letters of recommendation
in support of their application. During the online application process,
you will be asked to provide contact information (email address) for
each individual. The University will contact them with directions for
submission.

Deadline Information
Completed application, including transcripts and letters of recommendation,
must be submitted by the following deadlines:
Fall: July 1
Spring: November 1
