The National Leadership Honor Society

Dear Prospective Applicant:                           

Omicron Delta Kappa is the nation’s leading collegiate honor society, which seeks to encourage and recognize the highest achievement in various aspects of campus life, primarily leadership, scholarship and service.  Circle membership is open to junior and senior students, as well as to graduate students, including those in law, medical, and professional areas. Nomination to membership is also possible for faculty, administrative and professional staff who demonstrate outstanding characteristics in one or more of the noted areas.

The following are the minimum membership requirements for FSU’s Circle of ODK:

• Being of at least “Junior” standing (a minimum of 60 credits completed.)
• Minimum of one (1) semester completed at Florida State University.
• Academic ranking in the upper 35% of your respective class, approx. 3.1 GPA.

*Please note if applicant does not hold a current 3.1 GPA, application will not be reviewed.

The membership application is attached.  To be considered for membership into the Circle it must be typed in full and returned with the following items:

• One (1) sealed letter of recommendation from a faculty member, staff, or professional who can address both your character and leadership achievements.
• Your class schedule printed from the FSU website, including the names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of each instructor.
• A ten dollar ($10.00) application fee made payable to Omicron Delta Kappa.  If selected, there will be a one-time initiation fee of $80.00.
• Official Cumulative GPA from the FSU Registrar’s office or printed off of Blackboard.

The completed application and supporting documents are due no later than 5:00 P.M. on Monday, February 4, 2008, and must be delivered to the Center for Leadership and Civic Education (old LEAD Center), in the Union, across from the FSU computer store or mailed in a sealed envelope to:
