--- Point System ---

General Meetings: 2 points
General Meetings with a Seminar: 3 points
NSCS Community Service: 2 points per hour
Community Service not sponsored by NSCS: 1 point per hour, max. 10 pts per semester
Social Events: 2 points

Other ways to make points:
Union Table: 1 points per Wednesday, per hour
Committee Meetings: 1 point per meeting

If you attended every event for only one hour, you could make a possible 50 points. Therefore in order to maintain active membership, seniors must accumulate 35 points to maintain active membership. All other general members must accumulate 25 points for active membership.

As an active member of NSCS at FSU, you are allowed only one semester of inactivity within your undergraduate membership. As a senior, however, you must have two consecutive semesters of active participation ending in the semester in which you graduate. If there is more than one semester of inactivity, you must present a reason why to the Executive Board, and they will review everything on a case-by-case basis and make a judgment. The reason for a point system is to reward active participation in the NSCS at FSU. All benefits of the organization will be evaluated according to your classification as active or inactive.

The classification of inactive does not mean you are no longer a member. It is simply a classification used by our chapter to note membership according to their level of participation.
