To be eligible for the Certificate in African American Studies:

  1. You must satisfy, minimally the requirement for a African American Studies minor concentration (18 hours in approved coursework);
  2. An overall "C" (2.0) average in African American Studies and supporting courses is required of minors. No credit toward minor will be granted for course which a grade of "D" has been received.

Instructions

Fill in the courses you wish to apply to the certificate. Refer to the AFAS major course listings for the history and supplementary course categories. Please provide information regarding credits earned, the semester & year you took the course, and the letter grade you received. After these courses and credits have been verified and your eligibility has been determined, the certificate will be sent to you at the address you have provided above.
