Housing Options Living and learning are inseparable, so students should have many options for where they choose to live, allowing them to address their own unique needs. FSU students live in campus residence halls, private residence halls, scholarship houses, and a variety of off-campus locations. We strongly encourage all students to live on campus their first year. Students report that living on campus makes it easier to make friends, attend campus events, and get acquainted with the University environment. The FSU Housing Office has developed a variety of themes for our 15 University residence halls, as well as five "Living and Learning" Centers and two Honors residences, so there is something for everyone. In addition to different themes, each residence hall has unique policies so you can target a residence hall that best suits your personality. Although the campus residence halls are older, many of them have been recently renovated and all have direct (ethernet) access for your computing needs. If you choose to live on campus you will find that almost everything you need is within walking distance. You may still ask, "Why Live On Campus?" We have some reasons we think you should explore. Not all students choose to live in campus residence halls. The Southern Scholarship Foundation provides housing for high-achieving students who need financial assistance. There are also three private residence halls—Cash Hall, Osceola Hall, and Southgate Campus Center—that offer residential living adjacent to the campus. As a student-oriented community, Tallahassee also has countless apartment complexes that cater to students populations who desire Off-Campus Housing. |
