College of Criminology and Criminal Justice

One of the oldest criminology programs in the world, Florida State University’s College of Criminology and Criminal Justice leads you to a greater understanding of the complexity of crime as a social phenomenon. You will examine crime legislation, the criminal justice system, crime control, and the social and behavioral factors that may influence people who commit crimes. The program is located in Tallahassee, the capital city of Florida. This location gives you the opportunity to be in close proximity to the key functioning units of government: including state and federal courts, the governor’s office, legislative sessions, state and federal prisons, and the departments of Corrections, Probation and Parole, and Law Enforcement. These advantages provide you with diverse opportunities for student internships and employment contacts.
