Downloading Acrobat Reader

• If you are using Internet Explorer:
  1. Log on to the Internet, open Internet Explorer and go to the following web site:
     http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. This will take you to a web page entitled "Adobe - Reader Download".
  2. Make sure the checkbox next to "Adobe Reader 8" is selected and any other features you would like to have installed and click the "Continue" button.
  3. Select whether or not you would like the "Free Google Toolbar" installed and click the "Download Acrobat Reader" button. Wait for the next web page to load before you do anything else.
  4. A message may appear in your browser stating that the download has been blocked to protect your security. Click on the message and select "Download File...".
  5. When the page is done loading a window will pop up. The window will be entitled "File Download". It will say something like the following:

     Do you want to run or save this file?

     Name: sgc10_gtb401019_rdr80_DLM_en_US.exe (the filename may change depending on which options you selected)

     Type: Application, 533 KB

     From: ardownload.adobe.com

     Select the Save option.
  6. Another window will pop up. This window will be entitled "Save As". In the section labeled "Save In:" select Desktop.
  7. Now click the Save button.
  8. Another window will pop up. This window will show the progress of the file you are downloading. It might take a while to download so please be patient. When the file has been completely downloaded the window will say "Download Complete".
  9. Congratulations! You have successfully downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader.
• If you are using another browser:
  1. Log on to the Internet, open your internet browser and go to the following web site:
     http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. This will take you to a web page entitled "Adobe - Reader Download".
  2. If there are additional features available for download select the ones you would like and click the "Download Adobe Reader" button. Wait for the next web page to load before you do anything else.
  3. When the page is done loading a window will pop up prompting you to save or open the file you are downloading.
  4. Now click the Save option.
  5. Another window will pop up. This window will show the progress of the file you are downloading. It might take a while to download so please be patient.
  6. Congratulations! You have successfully downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Installing Acrobat Reader

1. There are two ways to install Acrobat Reader: (1) In the "Download Complete" window click on the run button or (2) Click on the new icon on your desktop or wherever you chose to save the file (the icon may have a name like "sgc10_gtb401019_rdr80_DLM_en_US.exe" or "AdbeRdr80_DLM_en_US.aom"). Following either option will launch the Adobe Download Manager.
2. It might take a while to download the required files so please be patient. When the file has been completely downloaded a window will pop-up notifying you that the files have been downloaded successfully. Click the "Install Now" button.
3. In the Acrobat Reader 8 setup choose destination location window click next.
4. To start the installation click Install.
5. An icon will be created on your desktop. It will be entitled "Acrobat Reader 8.0". Click on the icon to launch Acrobat Reader 8.0.
