Undergraduate Application Timeline

The following is the recommended timeline for fall undergraduate applicants to ensure priority processing. The applicable student level is noted in parentheses.

  January to June of Junior year   (Freshman applicants)
  • Send ACT (#0734) and/or SAT (#5219) scores to Florida State
  • Put your name on our mailing list
  Prior to August   (1 year before desired entry)
  • Make sure you will have completed all unit requirements (Freshmen)
  • Make sure you are taking transferable courses (Transfers)
  • Make sure you have registered for both the ACT and SAT test for the fall (Freshmen & Transfers with fewer than 60 hours of credit)
  August to December

Submit your Financial Aid paperwork (U.S. applicants)

Submit evidence of F-1 institution transfer to the International Center (Transfers with F-1 Student Visas)

Notification of Admission Decision

There are two notification dates for freshmen applying for either the summer or fall term. The University does not ordinarily accept freshman applications for the spring semester.

Deadlines for transfer students are listed below.

  • Apply online at admissions.fsu.edu/undergradapp/.
  • Submit official high school and all college/university transcripts (sent directly from each institution).
  • Submit official ACT (#0734) and/or SAT (#5219) results, if entering as a freshman or sophomore transfer student. It is recommended that junior and senior transfer applicants also submit test scores.
  • Meet the state of Florida's foreign language admission requirement by having two sequential units of the same foreign language in high school or eight semester hours of the same foreign language in college (or documented equivalent proficiency).
  • Satisfy the Florida College-Level English/Math Proficiency.
  • Meet requirements for admission to the University.
  • Meet the requirements for admission to the major/program of interest.
