Returning students who:
1. have been out of school for two or more consecutive
terms (including the summer term);
2. withdrew or canceled their registration during
a previous term of attendance and have not been enrolled for two or more
terms (including summer); or
3. have been dismissed from the University and not
enrolled for two or more terms (including the summer)
must submit an application for readmission to the
Readmission Section of the Office of Admissions. Applications for readmission
are available online at Readmission or
in the Office of Admissions, A2500 University Center. The readmission application
must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the beginning of the term for
which readmission is desired. (Readmission
Deadlines.) Readmitted former students are subject to retention requirements
in effect at the time of reentrance. Students claiming classification as
Florida residents must also reestablish their eligibility for this classification
when applying for readmission.
Any student who attempts college work at an institution
other than The Florida State University (including correspondence work) must
have official transcripts sent to the Readmission Section of the Office of
Admissions. Official transcripts issued directly to students are not acceptable
for evaluation and entrance requirements. The University reserves the right
to refuse readmission to any student who has an unsatisfactory academic and/or
conduct record. Students who are denied readmission to the University may appeal
that decision by filing a written petition with the appropriate academic dean's
office.
(Note: Students who have been academically dismissed and
want to be reinstated for the very next term must meet with their academic
dean. Dismissed students should read the information on academic retention
that follows.)
