Joshua is a senior from Salem High School in Conyers, Georgia majoring
in theatre and creative writing with a minor in religion. He is overseeing
the production and performance of his one act play “Quentin
G.” in collaboration with Tony award winning playwright and
visiting artist Mark Medoff (author of Children
of a Lesser God).
The play, which will also serve as Joshua’s
Honors Thesis project, has received financial support from the FSU
Honors Office through the Honors Thesis Grant Program and a Bess
Ward Fellowship award.

A member of the FSU Honors Program, he has also received a Southern Scholarship and a Theatre Patron Scholarship, and been inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and the Golden Key Honor Society. Joshua’s short story “The Year of the Cicada” was published in The Kudzu Review, the FSU literary magazine. Joshua was selected to receive the Summer 2006 Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Award. His project, "From Page to ScreenA Student Screenwriting Endeavor," is under the direction of Dr. Leslie F. Patterson. The awards provide a $4000 stipend to cover living expenses, materials, and travel. With the additional support of the Florida State University Honors Program, twelve proposals were funded. |
