Marjorie Harris Carr (B.S. '36), has been inducted into the Floridaıs Womenıs Hall of Fame.

1950
Judge Herboth S. Ryder (B.A. '50), Lakeland, has retired from the Second District Court of Appeal. He was appointed by Governor Askew in 1977.

1957
Dr. Wayne E. Wentworth (Ph.D. '57), Houston, Texas, chemistry professor at the University of Houston, has co-invented a gas detector that was recognized by R&D Magazine as one of ³the 100 most technogically significant new products of the year.²

1958
Dr. Lois Mai Chan (M.A. '58, M.S. '60) has received a Great Teacher Award from the Alumni Association at the University of Kentucky, where she is a professor at the Kentucky School of Library and Information Science.

1959
Curt C. Compton (B.S. '59), Middletown, Ohio, has retired from Johnson Controls World Services and is operating his own company, Facility Management Consulting.

1964
Stanley Stearns (B.A. '64), Houston, Texas, president/CEO of Valco Instruments Co., has co-invented a gas detector that was recognized by R&D Magazine as one of "the 100 most technogically significant new porducts of the year."

Laurence O. ³Larry² Cambell (B.S. '65) has been elected sheriff of Leon County.

Robert J. Cornet (B.A. '66, M.A. '67), Indianapolis, Ind., has been named executive director of university relations at Butler University.
Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minihan (B.A. '66) has been named the director of the National Security Agency.
Donald S. Modesitt (B.A. '66, J.D. '69) has been elected a Leon County judge.
Dr. Donald Sanz (B.A. '66, M.S. '71, PhD. '79), Deland, has been named Stetson Universityıs new Counseling Center director.

Linda LeCompte Wright (B.A. '68), Brunswick, Ga., has earned a doctoral degree from Georgia Southern University.

1969
Judith Reinnnna Coryell-Brown (B.S. '69, M.S. '73) is vice president for development at Broward Community College and executive director of the BCC Foundation.
William J. ³Bill² Montford (B.S. '69, M.S. '71) has been elected superintendent of the Leon County schools.

Arthur C. Johnson, Jr. (M.S. '70, Ph.D. '77) is executive director of the south-central area of the Palm Beach County School District.
Commander Frank Kreidler (B.S. '70, J.D. '73), Lake Worth, has been reelceted president of the Palm Beach Chapter of the Naval Reserve Association.

Jeanne Lefebvre (M.A. '71), Adrian, Mich., was honored as the director of non-traditional programming and assistant professor of history at Siena Heights College.

David S. Bair (M.B.A. '72) is president of the NationsBanks in New Mexico.
Capt. Herbert A. Speir (M.S. '72), Naples, Italy, is Commanding Officer of the U.S. Naval Hospital in Naples.

James F. Musgrave (B.S. '73) has been named a STS-79 Space Flight Awareness Honoree by NASA.

1974
Jeffery C. Bryan (B.S. '74), Atlanta, a partner with Evans, Porter, Bryan & Co. CPA firm, announced a merger with Crisp, Hughes & Co., LLP, a CPA firm in Asheville, N.C.
Howard A. Kusnick (B.S. '74), Ft. Lauderdale, has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Sunrise Chamber of Commerce. Howard is a partner with Kusnick & Rothstein, P.A.

1975
Wendy Anderson (B.A. '75), Orlando, has joined thelaw firm of Baker & Hostetler, in its Orlando office.
Joel Dawson (Ph.D. '75) is acting principal of Sabal Palm Elementary School. Manual Johnson (B.S. '75, Ph.D. '77), Norwalk, Conn., is co-chairman of Johnson Smick International, a consulting firm in economics and political policy.
Jeff Kaloostian (B.S. '75), Montgomery, completed USAF Air War College, and is director of student affairs in the Department of Strategy, Doctrine and Airpower.
Dr. Michael P. Weinstein (Ph.D. '75) is president and CEO of the New Jersey Sciences Consortium.

Cdr Douglas J. Allen (B.S. '76), Pretoria, South Africa, is naval attache to the United States Embassy in Pretoria.
Kenneth J. Barela (B.A. '76), Englewood, Colo, is the director of sales for Cochlear Corporation, an international company that manufactures and distributes a hearing device for deaf children and adults.
Judge Kathleen Dekker (J.D. '76) has been elected a circuit judge in Leon County.
Davis Gaines (B.A. '76) will play the lead in Andrew Lloyd Webberıs musical, Whistle Down the Wind.
Andrew M. Gombos Jr. (PhD. '76), Houston, Texas, has been transferred from Exxon Research to Exxon Exploration Company, involved in the search for petroleum in Chad, Africa.
Jeffrey B. McLain (B.S. '76), Orlando, is a purchasing executive at Walt Disney World.
Dr. Charles L. Dumoulin (B.S. '77, Ph.D '81), Schenectady, N.Y., has been presented the Collidge Fellowship Award by the GE Research and Devleopment Center. Dr. Dumoulin is a chemist specializing in medical imaging research. of Hamilton Beach/ Proctor-Silex.
Lt. Col. Terrel S. ³Terry² Preston (B.S. '77) has assumed command of the 37th Training Support Squadron in Lackland, Texas. Cdr. Kem P. Siddons (B.S. '77), Jacksonville, has been named executive officer of Naval Air Reserves Jacksonville.

Michael G. Lea (B.S. '78), Memphis, Tenn., is a Boeing 727 pilot with Federal Express.
Judge Stevan T. Northcutt (J.D. '78), Tampa, has been appointed to the appellate bench by Governor Lawton Chiles. He is a partner in the Tampa firm of Levine, Hirsch, Segall & Northcutt.
Dr. James J. Tritten (M.A. '78), Virginia Beach, Va., was given the Navy Superior Civilian Service Award by the Commander, Naval Doctrine Command for service as Special Academic Advisor to the Commander.

Thomas H. Carr (B.S. '79), Newport, R.I., was awarded a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
John Pledger (B.M. '79), Emeryville, Calif., has been named publisher of Electronic Musician.

Steve Avila (PhD. '83), Muncie, Ind., has been named Educator of the Year for the College of Business at Ball State University by Delta Sigma Pi.
John P. Corry (A.A. '83, B.S. '84), Los Angeles, was the producer of The Last Days of WWII, and was nominated for a 1996 Emmy Award.
Joseph T. Paprocki (A.A. '83, B.F.A. '85), Atlanta, is a partner of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising.
Troy L. White (M.F. A. '83) has started a new company called Stardust Studios, with his wife. The studios showcase limited edition prints of Troyıs paintings.

Randi C. Conti (B.S. '93, J.D. '96), Orlando, has joined Price Waterhouse, and has passed the Florida Bar exam and 3 of 4 parts of the CPA exam.
William H. Johnson (B.S. '93), Norfolk, Va., has been deployed on a six-month trip to the Mediterranean Sea aboard the amphibious assault ship U.S.S.Saipan. Sharon S. Lichter (A.A. '93, B.S. '95) is a televison reporter for the CBS affiliate in Johnson City, Tenn.
Sean R. Pirone (B.A. '93, M.S. '95), Ft. Drum, N.Y., has received a commission after completing Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, Ga. He attended the Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course in Arizona, and now serves in the 10th Mountain Division at Ft. Drum.
Brett D. Schaefer (B.A. '93) has been named the Jay Kingham Fellow in international regulatory affairs at The Heritage Foundation, a think tank.
