Hugh N. Durham (B.S. '59, M.S. '61) is head basketball coach at Florida Community College at Jacksonville.

Betty Lentz Siegel (Ph.D. '61), president of Kennesaw (Ga.)State University, is "1996 Cobb Citizen of the Year," named by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.

J. Wayne Flynt (M.S. '62, Ph.D. '65), Tuscaloosa, Ala., co-wrote a book published by The University of Alabama Press, Taking Christianity to China: Alabama Missionaries in the Middle Kingdom, 1850-1950.

1964

Dr. Roxanna J. Albury (B.A. '64, M.S. '65), Lander University, S.C., is a 1996 Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching U.S. Professors of the Year winner.

Arthur M. Cohen (Ph.D. '64), Los Angeles, wrote book Managing Community Colleges: A Handbook for Effective Practice, with Florence B. Brawer.

Antone H. Callaway (B.A. '66), Atlanta, Ga., is executive director of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and president of Literacy Action Inc.

1968

Don F. Seaman (Ph.D. '68), College Station, Texas, Texas A&M education professor, was inducted into the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C.

1969

Phil G. Acton (M.S. '69), Bolingbrook High School Head Football Coach, was inducted into the Illinois High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame.

Marjorie J. Meyer (B.A. '70), Houston, Texas, owner of Prime Site Inc., will manage Greenleaf Homeowners Association and Kenswick Court Condominium Association.

1971

Thomas R. Coe (B.S. '71, M.P.A. '90) has been promoted to assistant city manager of Tallahassee.

1972

Beth Simmons Stapor (B.M. '72), Cookeville, Tenn., is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee.

1974

Thomas E. Baker (B.S. '74), Lubbock, Texas, received the Barnie E. Rushing Jr. Faculty Distinguished Research Award at Texas Tech University.

Thomas M. Burke (J.D. '74), Orlando, has joined the law firm of Maguire, Voorhis & Wells.

Christopher J. Weiss (B.A. '74, J.D. '77), Orlando, a shareholder with Maguire, Voorhis & Wells, spoke on "Analyzing Construction Contract Disputes" at the CLE International Construction Law Conference in Orlando in February.

Sandra Williams Rackley (Ph.D. '75) is FSU's new dean of undergraduate studies.

John P. Vanzo (B.S. '76, M.P.A. '77), Bainbridge, Ga., is a part-time faculty member at Bainbridge College.

1977

Frances E. Farrell (Ph.D. '77), St. Augustine, received a Service Above Self Award and was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of St. Augustine in recognition of a lifetime of community service.

Brent A. Barker (B.S. '78), Shanghai, China, is a special agent with the Diplomatic Security Service, U.S. Department of State.

John P. Troup (B.S. '78) is director of nutrition and scientific affairs at General Nutrition Companies Inc.

Army Maj. Thomas H. Carr (B.S. '79), Newport, R.I., graduated from the College of Naval Command and Staff at the Naval War College.

Larry D. Shealy (B.S. '79), Neptune Beach, is director of medical sales for SurVivaLink.

Gerald H. Hansen (B.S. '80), Denver, Colo., is a new partner in the law firm Baker & Hostetler.

Cheryl Brooks Weldon (B.S. '80), Atlanta, is director of airline and served affiliate sales and marketing for WORLDSPAN Travel Information Services.

Thomas A. Bartlett (B.A. '81) is a co-owner of Shred-it, a mobile shredder for business documents, with his wife, Bonnie Bartlett.

Christopher C. Brockman (B.A. '81, J.D. '85), Orlando, a real estate attorney with Maguire, Voorhis & Wells, is listed in the 1997 edition of International Who's Who of Professionals.

Todd W. Byars (B.S. '93) is Leon County's Teacher of the Year.

Marine Maj. Michael E. McErlean (B.S. '82) is deployed for six months to the Persian Gulf with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

Catherine A. Schuler (Ph.D. '84), Lake Placid, Fla., wrote a newly published book, Women in Russian Theater, The Actress in the Silver Age.

Elisa A. D'Andrea (B.A. '86), Washington, D.C., is an associate in trademarks, copyrights, and unfair competition at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

G. Scott Strickland (B.S. '87), Kennedy Space Center, is a senior design engineer with McDonnell Douglas.

Meredith C. Trammell (B.S. '91, J.D. '95) is an assistant state attorney in the 2nd Judicial Circuit.

John H. Whitehead (B.S. '89) is an investigator in the State Attorney's Office in Tallahassee.

Gretchen T. Bersch (Ph.D. '90), University of Alaska at Anchorage, is a 1996 Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching U.S. Professor of the Year.

Marine Staff Sgt. Daniel K. Boyce (B.S. '91) received the Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal while assigned with Charlie Company, 8th Tank Battalion, Fourth Marine Division in Tallahassee.

Staff Sergeant Kara Williams ('90), San Antonio, is an outdoor program specialist for the San Antonio Girl Scouts. As a reservist for the USAF, she met President Clinton in February 1996.

1992

Eric S. Faulconer (B.S. '92, M.S. '96) is deputy commissioner of the Eastern Indoor Soccer League based in Tallahassee.

Theresa A. Jackman (B.S. '92), Pittsburgh, Penn., is a speech-language pathologist working with developmentally disabled adults.

Navy Lt. John R. Bixby (B.S. '93) was designated a Naval Aviator.

1994

Navy Ensign Christopher M. Sullivan (B.S. '94) received his commission as a naval officer after completing Officer Candidate School in Pensacola.

1995

Marine 2nd Lt. Scott A. Westerfield (B.A. '95) is with 1st Radio Battalion, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

1996

Navy Ensign Leonard W. Chapman (B.A. '96) completed Aviation Officer Candidate School at Naval Aviation School's Command in Pensacola.

Bridget M. Taylor (B.A. '96) has joined Ogilvy & Mather Advertising as an assistant media planner.

Navy Ensign Christopher W. Velez (B.S. '96) received a commission after completing Officer Candidate School in Pensacola.

1997
