1944 Dr. Sara Carolyn Davis Nicholson is president of the Tampa Federation of Garden Clubs. 1958 Leroy J. "Jake" Jacoby retired after 37 years in the Probation and Parole Services in Sarasota. Carmen L. Battaglia (B.A. '58, M.S. '60, Ph.D. '68) - See Nancy M. Hart, 1964. 1964 A. Bruce Craig is senior vice president, Retail Field Operations of Starbucks Coffee Company. Nancy M. Hart has married Carmen L. Battaglia in Atlanta. Battaglia is a former chairman of the national FSU Alumni Association and is on the Board of Directors of the American Kennel Club. Hart was an associate producer at CNN and worked in the Reagan administration. She now attends dog shows with Battaglia, who judges dog shows around 40 weekends a year. 1966 Kenneth L. Creely was named the 1997 Alumnus of the Year by the Society of Hosts of FSU's hospitality administration department, for contributions to the golf club industry and FSU. Circuit Judge John C. Lenderman, St. Petersburg, has completed the judicial writing course at The National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada. 1967 Col. George C. Goller was assigned to Ft. Lewis, Wash., as the senior U.S. Army Reserve advisor to I Corps. Dr. Thomas P. Senter edited a book, The Black Seminoles: History of a Freedom-Seeking People. 1968 Madeline (Kay) Applewhite Grantham is a candidate for a graduate degree in School Psychometry from M.R.E. New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Samuel L. Cunningham Jr. (M.A. '68, Ph.D. '73) is retiring from Tallahassee Community College after 16 years as director of communications and humanities. Dr. Richard R. Kania, professor and chair of justice and policy studies at Guilford College, has a grant to teach at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. 1970 Janet L. Stoner (B.S. '70, M.S. '72) is a vice president of Texaco Inc. 1972 Imogene Mathison Mixson (Ph.D. '72) retired as academic dean of Wallace State Community College in Dothan, Alabama. 1975 Gerald B. Sternstein (J.D. '75) is partner in the new law firm of Sternstein, Rainer & Clarke,P.A. in Tallahassee. 1977 Dr. M. Jean Keller (B.S. '76, M.S. '77) is the new dean of the College of Education at the University of North Texas in Denton. 1979 Frederick J. Lotterhos III (J.D. '79) is board certified in business litigation law and civil trial law and is a partner in the Jacksonville office of Holland & Knight LLP. 1980 Cmdr. Fred V. Berley participated in Exercise Sea Breeze '97 on a six-month Mediterranean Sea deployment aboard the destroyer USS Spruance. Ricky L. Johnson (B.S. '80, M.P.A. '88) is a senior manager at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. M. Patrick Moore (M.F.A. '80) is assistant professor of theatre at Berry College in Mount Berry, Ga. 1981 Steven L. Babcock (B.A. '81, M.A. '83) is president and CEO of Seaboard Management Corporation in Atlanta. 1982 Jimmy M. Woodward is treasurer of Flowers Industries, which markets fresh and frozen baked foods. 1983 Maj. Samuel L. Henry received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for outstanding performance as a logistics officer at Camp Pendleton, California. Alexander Muszynski III (J.D. '83) is partner in a new law firm in Orlando, Meier, Lengauer, Bonner, Muszynski & Doyle P.A. He is a trial lawyer specializing in aviation liability, personal injury, wrongful death and insurance. 1984 Brian J. Quirk is the 1997 Southeast District Director of Career Services of the Year for ITT Technical Institute. Lt. Cmdr. Robert W. Therriault has completed a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea aboard the guided missile cruiser USS Thomas S. Gates. John M. Methvin is national sales manager of Golf Direct, a division of Cox Enterprises in Atlanta. 1985 Ellen R. Julian (M.S. '85, Ph.D. '85) is an assistant vice president at the Association of American Medical Colleges. 1986 Virginia E. Smith-Wotring graduated from Saint Louis University with the degree of Doctor of Philosophy with a major in Pharmacological and Physiological Science. 1987 Samuel P. Queirolo (B.S. '87, J.D. '90), an attorney in the Tampa office of Holland & Knight, has been certified as a real estate specialist. 1988 Kelly J. Zambito was promoted to manager at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. Capt. Roland M. Edwards earned an MSC in international relations from Troy State University. He is going to Kuwait to work with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense. Judge Michael W. Jackson (J.D. '88) has received the 1997 Young Alumnus Award at Centre College. J. Travis Coker joined the Tallahassee firm of R. Dale Patchett as a lobbyist. 1989 B. Dan Berger is director of regulatory affairs at IDR Statistical Services Inc. Susanne M. Garber (M.M. '89) received the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts from Michigan State University. Gregory B. Reeves was promoted to senior manager at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. Whitley H. Robinson received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for outstanding work as project engineer in Rota, Spain. 1990 Susan L. Cuthbertson and Shelly C. Luisi have been promoted to managers at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. Karen Emener Nicholas, a special education teacher at Florida High, is the first Mrs.Tallahassee. David L. Fitzgerald is a senior analyst/project manager at Zeneca Pharmaceuticals in Wilmington, Del. Eileen Getson Bentley is an account executive at Rountree Group Communications Management in Atlanta. 1991 Kelly L. Elefant has joined the firm Gorsuch Kirgis L.L.C. in Denver. Her practice is concentrated in real estate. Sharon Coon Reed (M.A. '91) was promoted to manager at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. Michelle Osborne Miller was promoted to senior manager at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. Amelia M. Reguera is currently on a six-month deployment in the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf. 1992 Evan B. Gerstein is a Latin America sales manager for Acer/Texas Instruments laptop division. 1993 John E. Cole (J.D. '93) is attending Columbia Theological Seminary. Ginger M. Galloway is advertising and media relations director at the law firm of Holland & Knight LLP. Warren M. Gerstein is a supervisor of investigations for Gallagher Bassett Investigative Services in Fort Lauderdale. Chris G. Gouras Jr. is working on a master's degree at Mississippi College. Laurel A. Provitola was promoted to manager at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. 1994 Richard J. Merino is working on a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Mississippi College. Felicia Florin Rawlin has received the Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) designation and diploma by the Insurance Institute of America. 1995 Lt. j.g. Jennifer P. Meeks departed on a six-month deployment to the Western Pacific Ocean. David A. Read departed on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea. 1st. Lt. Wesley E. Terry and his wife, Erica Primus Terry, are stationed at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base in Kaneohe, Hawaii. Mary Elaine Wyatt (M.F.A. '95) is an instructor in FSU's fine arts department. 1996 Tobin A. Rader has received the title of certified surgical technologist (CST). Ronald D. Wiginton (Ph.D. '96) has joined the faculty of Elmhurst (Ill.) College. 1997 Stephen W. Baugh was commissioned with Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Unit, Florida A&M University, in Tallahassee. Alice L. Biggar (D.M. '97) is assistant professor of music at Berry College in Mount Berry, Ga. James R. Cappelmann, Ronald J. Jenkins and Michael J. Coen received commissions as naval officers after completing Officer Candidate School in Pensacola. Enders C. Groff, Steven Hogle and Michael L. Hunsaker have been cast in the first major production in the New York area of Stephen Schwartz's new musical, Children of Eden, at the Papermill Playhouse. Michael W.
