Douglass R. Cooke (B.S. '64, M.S. '66) is retiring after 32 years in the Duval County school system. He has been teacher, dean of boys and assistant principal for community education.
1968
J. Michael Pate (B.S. '68) was named publisher of the Tallahassee Democrat.
1970
Dr. Martha Almon Rozelle (M.S. '70) has been named director of strategic communications for DecisionQuest, a global professional services company of the Dames & Moore Group.
Dr. Raquel Cortina (M.M. '70, D.M. '72) has been appointed to the Seraphia D. Leyda University Teaching Fellows for a three-year term.
1971
Herbert H. Jervis (M.S. '71, Ph.D. '73) has been named vice president and chief intellectual property counsel of Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc.
Dana Chapman Ackley (M.S. '71, Ph.D. '73) has written a book called Breaking Free of Managed Care, A Step-by-Step Guide to Regaining Control of Your Practice - published by Guilford Publications Inc.
1972
Dr. Millton M. Pressley (M.B.A. '72, D.B.A. '75) is one of three professors appointed to the Seraphia D. Leyda University Teaching Fellows for a three-year term. The fellowships support teaching and scholarly activities and honor the memory of Seraphia D. Leyda.
1973
Richard S. Mann (B.M.E. '73) has been appointed finance manager at Barnett Banks Inc.
1977
Beverly F. Mitchell (Ph.D. '77) was honored by Kennesaw State University with a distinguished service award. Mitchell is a professor of physical education.
1978
Jean McDaniel Lickson (M.F.A. '78), a theater teacher at FSU, has been performing Tennessee Williams' tragic heroine Blanche DuBois in FSU's Theatre Southeast's "A Streetcar Named Desire."
Carol L. Irby (B.S. '78) is President/CEO of RiverLand. She recently received a master's degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans.
1979
Edward J. Ewing Jr. (B.S. '81) has been named executive director of the Community Association Management at Sun City Hilton Head.
1980
Judith A. Dunkley (B.A. '80) was appointed compliance specialist at Barnett Banks Inc.
1985
Beth Ann Heffernan (B.A. '85) has been appointed to the new position of director of operations at Shomex Productions in Los Angeles. Shomex is a national event production and management firm.
1990
Capt. Scott A. Bodine (B.S. '90) is leaving the command of the 24th Ordnance Company and will take over as the operations officer of Sierra Army Depot and move to Herlong, Calif., with his family.
1991
Lt. Amelia M. Reguera (B.A. '91) is on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy.
1992
Capt. Joshua M. Lenzini (B.S. '92) has been assigned to command the 24th Ordnance Company
Dr. John K. Waddell (Ed.D. '92) has been selected to attend the Harvard University Institute for Educational Management.
Capt. Christopher I. Patrick (B.S. '92, M.S.W. '93) is a licensed clinical social worker and is assigned to Mental Health Flight, 6 Medical Group at MacDill AFB, Tampa.
Mark A. Cooper (B.S. '92, M.B.A. '95) has been appointed Finance Manager at Barnett Banks Inc.
1993
John C. Welty (B.S. '93) received a master of business administration from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. He will assume a position with Coopers & Lybrand LLP in Washington, D.C.
Lt. j.g. Davi J. O'Hora (B.A. '93) recently completed a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea with Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 126, embarked on the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt.
1994
Angela M. Williams (B.S. '94) has been appointed purchasing agent at Barnett Banks Inc.
Glen E. Torbert (B.A. '94) departed for Cameroon on June 1 to serve as a Peace Corps volunteer. His work will include teaching high school students English in the French speaking part of Camaroon. He will also teach AIDS and environmental awareness.
1995
Ensign Judah I. Barlow (B.A. '95) is on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. John F. Kennedy.
1997
Ensign Sachary Salas (B.S. '97) was commissioned upon graduation with Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Unit, Tallahassee.
Ensign Travis N. Hicks (B.S. '97) was commissioned upon graduation with Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Unit, Tallahassee.
