Joyce L. Funke, M.D. (B.S. '46) has practiced medicine and taught for years at the University of Minnesota. She also works as a volunteer for the North Star Opera Company.
1954
Klyne D. Nowlin (B.S. '54) was elected vice president of the Florida Council of Chapters for a two-year term at the recent state convention.
1962
Thomas G. Schultz (B.S. '62) was selected by U.S. Sen. Bob Graham to be chairman of the Southern Conference of the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission of Florida.
1967
Capt. John C. Overton (B.S. '67) has completed his assignment as commander of the Naval Surface Warfare Center and will pursue a new challenge to be announced this month.
1968
William C. Davis (B.A. '68) is president of the Palm Beach County Sports Commission in Palm Beach Gardens. He is also chairman of the Lou Groza National Collegiate Football Award.
1970
Marjorie Jean Meyer (B.A. '70), owner of a professional community association in Houston, Texas, has joined the faculty of the Community Association Institute's law seminar offered in Arlington, Va., and Marina del Rey, Calif.
1972
Sandy Huffman Saunders (B.S. '72) has returned to FSU as coordinator of business services for the Department of Psychology.
1975
Francis J. Ryan Jr. (M.M. '75, M.M. '77, Ph.D. '78) is director of the University of Tulsa's School of Music.
1976
Roy J. McLalin (B.S. '76) is employed in Marriott's educational food service division.
1977
Dr. Scott H. Beck (M.S. '77) has been promoted to professor of sociology/anthropology at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City.
1980
Cmdr. Fred V. Berley (B.A. '80) is halfway through a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea with Commander Destroyer Squadron 24.
1981
Wayne L. Helsby (J.D. '81) has been appointed to the Orange County Bar Association Executive Committee.
1982
Forrest K. Clinard (B.S. '82, J.D. '86) has opened a new law office in Atlanta.
1983
Paul Kamolnick (B.S. '83, M.S.'87, Ph.D. '90) has been promoted to associate professor of sociology/anthropology at East Tennessee State University.
1984
Michael A. Ortoll (B.S. '84) has been promoted to senior vice president and partner at DavisBaldwin Insurance Inc. in Tampa.
Michael Dozier (M.S. '84) joined the Head Start Division of Hillsborough County, Tampa, as a training manager. Head Start is a federal program for pre-school children from low-income families.
1987
Kimberly S. Sproul (B.A. '87) will teach elementary Spanish at Bainbridge College as well as Bainbridge High School.
Michael F. Andrews (B.S. '87, J.D. '91) was appointed to the Pinellas County Court in the 6th Judicial Circuit.
1991
Capt. Paul S. Rollin (B.S. '91) participated in a community relations project at the Redemptionist School for the handicapped in Pattaya, Thailand. Rollin's fellow marines and sailors off the amphibious assault ship USS Belleau Wood removed several tons of concrete rubble and painted the inside of the school auditorium. Rollin participated in Exercise Cobra Gold, a multinational exercise with Thailand, while assigned with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
1992
Lt. Gregory K. Fripp (B.S. '92) received a Gold Wreath Award for recruiting excellence for the Navy.
1993
Christi Ostendorf Woodworth (B.S. '93) has just completed an M.B.A. in arts management from Oklahoma City University and is development director of allied arts in Oklahoma.
Cynthia J. Brennan (J.D. '93) has been appointed treasurer of the Orange County Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section. As treasurer, Brennan will serve a one-year term on the board of directors. She is an attorney in the Orlando office of Holland & Knight LLP.
1996
Jane D. Tronnier (B.S. '96) is the new public relations coordinator for CNNSI (CNN Sports Illustrated)
John P. Patriarch (B.S. '96) received a commission as a naval officer after completing Officer Candidate School in Pensacola.
