Dr. Tillman is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the department and the Center for Demography and Population Health. Dr. Tillman’s research interests include adolescent well-being, family structure and dynamics, immigrant adaptation, and social demography. Her teaching interests include the areas of family, race and ethnicity, and social demography. Dr. Tillman earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her dissertation topic was the Academic Outcomes Among Adolescents in Stepfamilies: The Importance of Family Structure Pathways, Family Composition, and Family Relationships.
