Dr. Rutledge is an Assistant Professor in the Educational Leadership and Educational Policy, Planning and Analysis programs in the department. She earned a Masters Degree in Teaching Social Studies from Brown University and a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on the effects of accountability policies on school reform, school organization, and the work of principals and teachers. Her research interests also include urban education and qualitative research methodology. Dr. Rutledge teaches Introduction to Qualitative Methods and Educational Leadership, and Instructional Leadership. She has had articles published in The Peabody Journal of Education and Teachers College Record. She is a co-author with Kenneth K. Wong of “System-wide Efforts to Improve Student Achievement”, published by Information Age Publishing.
