Dr. Gallard is an Associate Professor in the Science Education program at Florida Sate University. He earned his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in Science Education. Dr. Gallard has taught science at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Being bi-literate (English, Spanish), he also consults with, conducts evaluations, and teaches at the national level in many Spanish-speaking countries. He teaches both Masters and Doctoral classes. His research interests include the evaluation of educational programs at the national level in Spanish-speaking countries, as well as the notion of positionality by looking at how male and female teachers deal with their professional lives. A new area of interest for him focuses on developing an understanding of the idea that teaching and learning science has become so complicated that it is beyond the capability of teachers, teacher educators and policy makers. Please visit his web site to learn more about his work, including his current projects.
