RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The experiences and contributions of our World War II veterans need to be preserved and remembered; and

WHEREAS, As there are few, if any, institutes or museums that have as their primary purpose to preserve the legacy of the World War II generation of soldiers as well as to educate future generations of students as to their country's military heritage; and

WHEREAS, While such an Institute on World War II and the Human Experience has been established at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, for these unique purposes; and

WHEREAS, With the Institute actively collecting, cataloging, and preserving the artifacts, official histories, and personal accounts of those veterans who served during World War II,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That The Florida American Legion membership supports and endorses this effort and the Institute on World War II and the Human Experience as an excellent means to tell future generations of Americans about the important contributions made by these American servicemen.
