Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT)

The AFOQT is a standardized test similar to the SAT or GRE. It takes 4.5 hours to complete the test. The AFOQT consists of 16 sub-tests that generate 5 composite scores:

  • Pilot (see requirements below)
  • Navigator (see requirements below)
  • Verbal (minimum score of 15)
  • Quantitative (minimum score of 10)
  • Academic Aptitude (no minimum score)

To qualify as a Pilot or Navigator applicant, the following additional requirements must be met:

  • Pilot score of 25
  • Navigator score of 10
  • Combined Pilot and Navigator score of 50
  • Verbal score of 15
  • Quantitative score of 10
  • Academic score has no minimum
  • Pilot score of 10
  • Navigator score of 25
  • Combined Pilot and Navigator score of 50
  • Verbal score of 15
  • Quantitative score of 10
  • Academic score has no minimum
 

NOTES:

  • The AFOQT can only be taken twice.
  • Applicants must wait 180 days between tests.
  • AFOQT scores never expire.
