Having just
celebrated our fortieth anniversary we are eager to embark on
another lively academic year in which we look forward to visiting
lecturers, the annual international grad student conference, departmental
colloquia, and various other occasional academic activities and
social gatherings. We invite you to participate by following news
and announcements that will be posted here as the year proceeds,
or if you travel to Tallahassee, by attending one or more of the
special events.
The study of religion
at Florida State University is located squarely in the tradition
of humanities scholarship. Our faculty, staff, and students collaborate
with members of other departments and programs throughout the
